Event FAQs

Do I need to bring a dog with me?

You don’t need a dog to come to Barklove – just a love for them. There will be ample opportunities for dog spotting and lots of things to do without a furry friend.  Dogs are of course welcome on-lead and under close control. Please make sure to clean up after your dog and use the waste bins provided. Anyone deemed not to be acting responsibly, failing to control their dog, or breaking these rules may be asked to leave the event. By attending with your dog, you’re helping us create a fun, safe, and respectful day for everyone.

Can I buy tickets at the venue?

We highly recommend pre-purchasing as limited spaces are left but tickets will be available on the day.

Is there access for disabled visitors?

This is an outdoor space. The ground in the Yard is uneven and bumpy. Please consider this before purchasing your ticket(s). The accessible ticket policy limits one free carer ticket to each accessible ticket purchased. If you need more than one essential companion, or your access requirements are not met by the online booking system please email access@swg3.tv or call the venue on 0141 337 1731. Office hours are Monday – Friday 10am – 5pm.

Companion ticket bookings will require proof of eligibility/disability before the event – you will be contacted by Ticketmaster no later than 72 hours after your order. Tickets will be cancelled if requisite evidence is not provided.

Please visit https://swg3.tv/accessibility for further information on accessing our spaces. Please notify the venue if using a motorised wheelchair.

Are there any age restrictions for attending Barklove?

No, the event is open to all ages. Please note under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure children are supervised at all times and understand not to approach unfamiliar dogs without the owner’s permission. Even friendly dogs can get startled in busy settings.

What time does Barklove start?

Our gates will open at 11am, with the event finishing at 5pm.

Will stallholders take cash or card?

Most vendors will accept card but it is advisable to have some cash with you.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

There are indoor spaces in the venue in the event of a downpour or hot weather. Please check the weather forecast before coming and dress appropriately.

Is parking free?

Metered street parking is available on Eastvale Place and Kelvinhaugh Street, with no charges on Sundays (the day of the event). Parking on-site can be arranged for accessible and Blue Badge customers — please email access@swg3.tv or call 0141 337 1731 to arrange in advance.

Can I leave and come back to the venue?

No, once you have left Barklove re-entry is not permitted.

Can I let my dog off-lead?

All dogs must be on a short lead and under control at all times. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please avoid using extendable leads – they can easily get tangled, and it’s much harder to control your dog when they’re far away. If a dog shows signs of distress or aggression, we may ask you to step away from busy areas or, if necessary, leave the event. Dogs attending the event must be friendly, well-socialised, and up to date with their vaccinations (this will not be checked on entry).

My dog is nervous, can they still come?

Barklove will be a lively environment with lots of people, other dogs, and activity. If your dog is nervous, easily stressed, or uncomfortable around crowds or other animals, it might be best for them to sit this one out.

Will there be additional cost for activities?

Most activities are included in the price of your ticket but some will incur an additional charge and some require pre-booking. Further information on the programme is available here.

Can I take my dog into the education sessions?

Yes! All our Education sessions are dog friendly.

Is there anywhere dog friendly to stay nearby?

The Radisson Red is our partner dog friendly hotel that’s a short walk from the venue. You can book your stay here.

How do e-tickets work?

SWG3 operate a scanning system to verify e-tickets. If you have a smartphone, you can show your ticket on your device — please make sure to download/open your ticket on your phone prior to arriving at the venue. If your screen is cracked, please print out your ticket(s) and bring them with you, as cracked and damaged screens can’t be scanned.
